She completed her professional studies in the DR and the USA at CAHRET, Barna Management School, NYU, Cornell University, and Marriott University. She obtained degrees in Hotel Management, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, and Executive Management and Leadership.
The first 17 years of her professional career were spent in the hospitality industry in the DR and NYC, occupying senior management and executive leadership positions in top world-class hotel chains. There, she received several awards for “Leadership,” “Operational Excellence,” and “Strategy development” while accomplishing excellent results, forming high-performing teams, and enhancing company culture and employee engagement.
In the Dominican Republic, she has served as an advisor and member of multiple boards of directors in prominent companies. For 11 years, she worked in the industrial sector. In her last position, she became the first woman CEO of the Santiago Free Zone Corporation organization, accomplishing extraordinary results and contributing to tremendous growth and expansion.
Her 30+ years of experience in executive and leadership positions are reflected in her history of sustainable and prosperous business growth, bold execution, and facilitation of change—also, the leading of impactful social projects. In the DR, she is highly ranked as one of the most influential women in business and a relevant driving force in the execution of striving projects. Her legacy is rooted in her being the founder and host of Ties of Glories Ministry since 2010.
Katy is married to Nelson, and together, they have three wonderful children: Nelson Alexander, Scarlett, and Isabella. She resides in New Jersey, USA.
