Her professional studies at CAHRET, in the DR; at New York University (NYU) and Cornell University, USA, she achieved undergraduate and graduate degrees, respectively, in Hotel Management, as well as Organizational Development and Labor Relations. Also, at Barna Management School, she obtained a degree in Senior Executive Management Development (PADE). At Marriott University, completed executive programs in the areas of business management, marketing, operations, and human resources.
The first 17 years of her professional career were developed in the hospitality industry in the DR and NYC, occupying senior management and executive leadership positions in top world-class hotel chains, where she received several awards for “Leadership”, “Operational Excellence” and “Strategy development”, while accomplishing excellent results and the ability to conform high-performing team, enhancing company culture and employee engagement.
Served as an advisor and board member for renowned companies in the DR in the areas of Training and Innovation, Finances, Green Energy, and Economic and Social Project development. For 13 years, worked as the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar leading consortium in the industrial and export sector in the Dominican Republic, being the first woman to occupy such a position in that organization of 50 decades. Actively supported in designing programs and providing funds for several non-profit organizations targeted at women’s development, education, persons with disabilities, and the youth.
Her 30+ years of trajectory in executive positions are reflected in her history of sustainable, successful business and social projects in both the United States and the Dominican Republic - where she has a high ranking as one of the most influential women in the business field and a relevant driving force in impactful national projects.
Katy is married to Nelson, and together they have procreated three amazing children, Nelson Alexander, Scarlett, and Isabella. They reside in New Jersey, USA.
